Hullo Quatters – hope you’re enjoying the crisp fall air. We’re looking forward to seeing you at this week’s big meeting with special guest Suzanne Langlois, co-founder and former owner of Kaldi’s Coffee.
We’ll be at DUC 234 at 8:00 p.m. this Wednesday, October 3rd to play a game, get some farm updates and learn all about the trials and tribulations of starting a coffee shop – and then another coffee shop, and then another… it should be fascinating!
A bit more about Ms. Langlois:
Suzanne Langlois opened Kaldi’s Coffee in 1994. In 2000, the shop was named “Best Place to Buy Coffee” by the Riverfront Times and sure enough, we bought her coffee. The shop soon expanded to run Kayak’s Cafe, incorporate shops into Schnuck’s grocery stores and even to provide coffee to the Washington University community.
Ms. Langlois eventually sold her stake in the coffeeshops, but she moved on to some pretty cool things: she’s on the board of a nonprofit called “Meds and Food for Kids” that works with Hatian people to develop local solutions for problems of malnutrition.
Be sure to stop by DUC 234 to hear from Ms. Langlois – all are welcome!
